ABOUT WINDHAM GOLF COURSE

The Windham Golf Course has had many exciting changes!

DRIVING RANGE: A new state-of-the-art driving range has been built and is open to play! We built a 15 bay covered facility that features Top Tracer technology in each bay, along with power tees. There are tables and chairs for everyone’s comfort, as well as a concession stand where food and beverages are available for purchase. Also, the range includes a larger private bay for available to book for lessons or for small parties and events.

GOLF COURSE: With the construction of the new driving range, two of the holes on the golf course were closed. The brand new holes are now open for play!

As stated we are in the middle of exciting changes and do have some areas where construction is taking place. The golf course is still in great shape to play, but some areas are considered to be Abnormal Ground Conditions, for score posting purposes. Under the USGA rules, simply defined, the rule states these unmarked areas throughout the golf course can be considered Abnormal Ground Conditions. The player has the option to play the ball as it lies or take nearest point of complete relief, no closer to the hole, 1-club length. When determining relief, a player should use the natural boundary of the area as a guide for the nearest point of relief.

AN ORIGINAL, IMPROVED

This philosophy is “ongoing”, as we are constantly working on the course to make it an even better experience. The last few years were times of restoration, as we renovated and re-built bunkers, brought our greens back to their traditional, excellent, conditioning, cleaned up our ponds, and performed tree maintenance. We have two new holes that opened in the last year creating an ever improving experience for golfers here at Windham Golf Course.

Our course has changed for the better again this year. Tee boxes have been extended and improved, adding four different tee off locations for golfers to choose from. Tall fescue grass that was planted in 2024 should begin to sprout this year, improving the natural diversity on our course. All of these improvements to the course will maintain, and enhance, the original historic design of our classic course.

WINDHAM GOLF COURSE TOUR

After a multi-million-dollar renewal and renovation, our circa-1922 course has returned to its roots as a terrific parkland course that offers a challenge to golfers of all skill levels. Our philosophy is that golf should be fun, hazards should be fair, and conditions should be excellent.

FIRST HOLE FLYOVER

The Windham Golf Course opens with one of our original holes dating back to 1922. This par-4 is a challenge right out of the gate. Being able to make two good shots into the large green, could lead to a good chance for an opening birdie.

SECOND HOLE FLYOVER

No. 2 is all about positioning, the left side of the fairway is favorable. A mere 300 yards, it is all about the trees protecting an undulating green.

FOURTH HOLE FLYOVER

No. 4. is rewarding for the risk takers. This par 4, with a bunker on the right of this back to front sloping green, is a great birdie opportunity with an accurate tee shot.
